If your child is having difficulty communicating with others — whether the problem results from speech, language, cognition, or voice — we can help.

Did you know that mouth or throat abnormalities that cause speech issues may also cause feeding difficulties? Our speech-language pathologists can also help your child with feeding issues caused by medical conditions.

Our Approach

We will evaluate your child and create a customized program specific to his or her needs. We will develop a home therapy program for use at home with your child in conjunction with the therapy offered at our outpatient clinic.

  • Alternative communication methods including electronic devices and sign language
  • Auditory comprehension
  • Aural (hearing) rehabilitation to help kids with hearing loss, including children with cochlear implants, learn to interpret sounds and to develop spoken language.

  • Compensatory strategies and modifications in home/classroom
  • Dysfluency / stuttering

We work with patients using the following methods:
  • Child and family centered care with parent involvement
  • Play based activities with modeling and prompting of language at age appropriate level to teach new skills or regain skills
  • Provide skilled support and hands on techniques to guide child to learn new skills or regain skills
  • Provide instruction for the child and parents on techniques and recommendations for home
  • Work with what motivates each child
  • Video swallow studies
