What to do if you think you have COVID-19

In Minnesota and across the country, COVID-19 tests and supplies are limited. The Minnesota Department of Health has issued guidance to conserve testing supplies. As a result, M Health Fairview is reserving its tests for patients who are critically ill.

Most people with COVID-19 experience a mild illness and will recover at home, and our care team can guide you online or by phone.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please:

  • Go to OnCare.org, our 24/7 virtual clinic, where our care team will evaluate your symptoms and provide a care plan.
  • Follow the care instructions you receive from our team. Plan to self-quarantine for a minimum of seven days after your illness began, or 72 hours after your fever subsides and your symptoms have improved without the use of fever-reducing medications, whichever is longer.
  • Outside of an emergency, please do not visit a clinic or hospital without calling ahead. This avoids spreading COVID-19 to others.

If your symptoms worsen or you experience shortness of breath, call or message your healthcare provider or visit OnCare.org for consultation.
